Lego Day

There is apparently not much better than a pile of Legos to the boys. Here we went to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) on their Lego Day. The boys built boats and sunk them with marbles. They did pretty well, but Levi's (with Chad's help :)) floated more marbles than the rest! We also built a wall and crashed it with a bowling ball, helps to have an engineer for a Dad on that one. The boys each got to make a piece of an R2D2 Lego statue too.

Guinea Pigs

Here are some photos of our little piggies...we got them for christmas. Chad made them a nice cage with a 2nd level and ramp and a little house! Their names are Bolt and Snuggles, and if you ever meet them the reasons would be obvious. The only names the kids could come up with at the start were Biblical names, none of which sounded right. But Bolt is fast (and a bit afraid) and snuggles is well, snuggly (as can be anyway). They are family pets but Josiah mostly has Bolt and Elijah has Snuggles. Levi shares both when in the mood (which is for very short periods of time).

They are well loved. Elijah esp. loves them, Levi is not quite safe with them. They both have been know to do "tricks" with them...like flips and flying...but the pigs are still safe and we've had to do quite a bit of teaching on gentleness...esp with Levi. Josiah is very good with them, and by far the best "chore doer" however he is afraid of their sharp claws, so Elijah picks them up for him.

Elijah 2009

Here are some pics of Elijah last year too, while I am at it. Its a good thing the
picasa limits me to 4 pictures or the whole album might be on these blogs.

Elijah is our "expert" on climbing

He also is learning to read

That's a pretty big rock to skip Elijah!

Josiah 2009

Here are some memerable Josiah moments from last year! The
first is a high five for him either skipping his first rock or doing the hike with no help or whining, I
think it was the rock and the hike thing was the year before but I don't remember!

Learning to read

Josiah as a pirate, the theme of Day camp (his first year at camp).

All swollen from his allergy to ??? maybe bug bites this last summer. Poor guy!

Friends

Last Spring/Summer my friend Sharon and I traded watching each other's kids every other week. The boys always looked forward to it. I am very grateful as well! Sometimes we just played other times we did science experiments or something "school like."

Last year Levi

When I go on to picasa (picture program) It always starts me up at some of these pictures...And I think they are cute. This is Levi at 2 (he is now 3 1/2). He no longer uses a binki, but IS getting crazier by the year. He still uses the blanket Mamama made him though.
That is pudding...he was left alone too long with hiw pudding...see what happens when you leave him alone for too long! Or maybe he is a self-made finger painting artist.
This is Levi after the urgent care run last year. He split the back of his head open when his chair "accidently" fell over backwards. I wasn't too happy with what they did or rather didn't do at urgent care...so ended up using super glue from Chad's shop to try and keep the wound together. Whoever thought a 2 year old could keep a head bandage on all day for a week or so is nuts!
This is sledding on Josiah's B-Day , too cute a picture to pass up!
